collective movement is our strength and
in standing still it builds momentum.

and so we stood.

curious looks, a game of which face would break first to reveal the moment.
someone else knew and watched patiently, waiting for me to cave.
i played against his hand by being utterly dismissive.

as we stood motionless on the busy street
the world expanded, the globe spun faster on its axis
contracted and convexed
grew timeless and direct
as thick words lost meaning in the haze.

born forever a force versus itself
we allowed the moment to drift by calling it “captivating predilection”
for the sake of those sewing their own names onto precious moments
something either too comfortable or complicated to unravel.

the fourth axis lives on a varying plane of importance
depending on whom you’re speaking with

Our volume is continually doubled down by the idea of something magnificent,
continually marred by decent rememberance of those we desire to keep near.

we never knew the details but are friendly with the mirrors.

You’d prefer to keep the sunny seasons of me
the candy-coated funhouse versions
An ideal slice of cake.

well, the soft inside of a dream
turns crunchy when we wake.

some girls meticulously put things on in the morning
only to be removed quickly at night.

i thought i could dress the part
and marry to my wartime efforts
until i realized it’s who i’ll never be –
a sheep in wolf’s clothing.

besides, magicians don’t tell others the secrets to their tricks.

until then i’ll wait for the strangest hour
when dreams give implicit directions for
the mutual things we wish for and ache to see.
