Trust thyself: every heart vibrates to that iron string. – Ralph Waldo Emerson
“Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.” is a great line from Emerson. If there’s no enthusiasm in what you do, it won’t be remarkable and certainly won’t connect with people on an emotional basis. But, if you put that magic energy into all of your work, you can create something that touches people on a deeper level. How can you bring MORE enthusiasm into your work? What do you have to think or believe about your work to be totally excited about it? Answer it now.

I like to imagine that I’m pretty good at injecting positivity and enthusiasm into my work but admittedly, don’t do it consistently enough. And I’m not gonna lie, on certain days it wouldn’t be remiss to say that like anyone I’m capable of injecting work with cynicism and occasionally stubbornness.
I need to believe in what I do and always think about the bigger picture of what the team is collectively trying to achieve. I usually require the time to think things through, the logic to do things efficiently and the freedom to explore and build upon ideas.
How can I bring more enthusiasm to my work?
I bring the most enthusiasm to my work when I see the big picture and get excited about the possibilities. I also need to believe that the work I do makes a difference and is useful for someone somehow. That it changes the game, moves the needle, makes an impact…that sort of thing.
