The #Trust30 Day Challenge [Post 28]

What is your #1 passion in life?  Now, imagine what would happen if you incorporated that passion into your life daily.  Write down your passion and keep it close to you.  Remind yourself of it daily, just like brushing your teeth.

(Author: Eric Handler)

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that my #1 passion is discovering new things. #2 is breaking old things apart.

Now, I’m not a violent person by any means. However I can be klutzy, and when things break it’s usually not on purpose! Things seems to be a word we throw around loosely. We use it in a sub-academic way of generalizing “stuff”, or nondescript groups of objects that themselves cannot be contained – or do not wish to be contained – by the author.

For the purpose of this topic,  I’m referring less to the physical things of the world (which I’d be less likely to break) and more to the ideas, concepts, theories, and pre-constructed ideologies on life.

In my #1 passion, this also apply to the arts, technology, health, fitness, and culture.  I don’t think the right phrasing is that I like to see concepts around a particular sub-genre evolve, but I immensely enjoy seeing them take shape.

How to work this into my life daily?

I troll music blogs for new trends. I need to travel. I usually know about new trends in ridiculous things like cooking quinoa, internet memes, or doing hot yoga in Santa Monica. The first question I’ll probably ask you the next time we meet for coffee is “So, what’s new?”

There’s nothing I enjoy more than a long conversation where we can both learn something and develop our own ideas surrounding it. That’s inspiring. And comes from an ultimate place of passion.
