It’s Complicated

I always hear business owners say things like “When more people (or businesses) see how great our product is, then we’ll be in a position to scale.”

Or, “We’re increasing our marketing and PR spend to reach more people.”

These statements are great but they’re only partially true.  Getting loyal customers is more complicated than that.

Old methods don’t work anymore. Buying billboard space or being featured on a television show is not a  magic bullet for getting loyal customers.

Or any customers at all.

Find a small, dedicated group of people who are passionate about your product or service. Better yet, a group of people who are so passionate about it that they can’t wait to tell their colleagues, friends, and family.

Then go find more people like that.

And scale from there.
