Newton’s Laws of Motion:
- First law: The velocity of a body remains constant unless the body is acted upon by an external force.[3][4][5]
- Second law: The acceleration a of a body is parallel and directly proportional to the net force F and inversely proportional to the mass m, i.e., F = ma.
- Third law: The mutual forces of action and reaction between two bodies are equal, opposite and collinear.
We spin in circles moving outwardly, within groups and in single drifting dreidel tops spinning alone out to sea.
We wake in a pile of political games after sleeping long throughout the day. We drown in deep shadows, afraid of what could be when the present is at hand. We fight for acknowledgement and burn through passion like a cheap book of matches struck over and over again with no gratification in sight. Why do we do it?
Why are we so quick to burn through people?
People are sound bytes and boards, people used as quick hits of relief. Steady friends became family when “family” went post-nuclear.
We motivate, we inspire, we conquer, we lead. In our fair city we create communities and take without respect, value or reason (someday soon I’ll write over “take” with “give”).
I’m not afraid of your baggage; I’m afraid of your bottom line.
The best part is in letting go.
We find a reflection in someone else of the possibilities and what’s missing. You once revived some aspects of what was gone that I tried to dismiss long ago as “old” or “over” when what I really wanted was to get away from myself. Someday I’ll tell you the story of why I like to keep my hair blonde (it’s related to this).
You tell me the things that don’t need to be said by not saying them. Things about who I am and what I’ve loved and what I continually choose to (however subconsciously) be. I pick it up on my own and move on, choosing fierce independence over any interpersonal need. The funny thing is, no one’s ever fought for that attention. Not here.
There’s a bug on my keyboard.
