Part 6: The Other Options

They say that no matter where you go, there you are. It’s hard to derive long-term happiness from a physical place.

With that said, here are some things I miss about LA:

-Long runs along the San Vicente trail and Santa Monica stairs

-Going to the beach just *because* (take Marine in Santa Monica all the way out for a quiet patch of sand)

-4 friends driving in 4 cars to meet somewhere

-Drives up the PCH with the windows down

The Troubadour

-Going to shows at Spaceland (before it was The Satellite)

-Volunteering at KCRW on Garth Trinidad’s Chocolate City show (a.k.a. therapy)

-Early morning breakfast meetings

-Downtown Summer nights

-Autumn shows at the Greek

Cinespia at Hollywood Forever Cemetery

-Opening night at the Dome

-Gallery openings (and sometimes observing the crowd rather than the art)

-Drinking overpriced champagne under the stars at the Hollywood Bowl

-Late night thai food and sloppy karaoke

-The best sushi spots in oddball parts of town

-Delicious Mexican food on every corner

-Making like an Angelino and applauding at everything (movies ending, airplanes landing)

-Abbott Kinney

-Chinatown

FYFest

MOCA

LACMA

Bottega Louie

Skylight Books

Chateau Marmont

Saturday Nights off the 405

 Santa Monica Power Yoga

 -Biking to Farmers Market

-Avoiding the Grove

-Catching up on Which Way, LA?

-Incredible views

-The hills of Silverlake and Echo Park

-The magic of the Hollywood Hills in the summertime. Or, anytime.
